भारतातील प्रत्येक खेडोपाडी एक गवत धुमाकूळ घालत आहे.त्याला कितिही नष्ट करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला तरी ते नष्ट झाले नाही.कॉंग्रेस गवत माहित नसणारा माणूस सहसा सापडणार नाही.अनावश्यक येणारं आणि येड्यागत वाढणारं गवत म्हणजे कॉंग्रेस गवत.याच गवताला गाजर गवत म्हणून देखील ओळखलं जातं.काहीजण कॉंग्रेस गवत देखिल म्हणतात.

इतके वर्ष कॉंग्रेस गवत उपटून उपटून देखील ते नष्ट होवू शकलं नाही. त्याचा त्रास असतो.धड हे गवत जनावरं पण खात नाहीत. पाणी असो वा नसो. एकवेळ बाभळ येणार नाही पण कॉंग्रेस गवत कुठनं तरी डोकं काढणारचं.
१९५० च्या दशकात भारतात दुष्काळ पडला होता.देश नुकताच स्वातंत्र्य झाला असल्याने भारत तेव्हा अन्नधान्यात स्वयंपुर्ण नव्हता. मोठ्या प्रमाणात अन्नधान्य आयात करावे लागत असे. तेव्हाच्या तत्कालीन कॉंग्रेस सरकारने यावर एक योजना आखली.या योजनेप्रमाणे अमेरिकेतून PL480 अंतर्गत मोठ्या प्रमाणात गहू आयात करण्यात आला.हा गहु नित्कुष्ठ प्रतीचा होता, या गव्हा मधूनच  गवताच बी भारतात आलं.शासकिय योजनेतून गव्हाची आयात करण्यात आली होती.संपुर्ण भारतभर हा गहू रेशन पध्दतीने वाटण्यात आला.या गव्हातूनच हे बी शेतात आलं आणि सगळीकडे पसरलं.हा गहू प्रामुख्याने खाण्यासाठी वापरला जात होता.आत्ता तो गहू हलक्या प्रतीचा असल्याने अनेक ठिकाणी या गव्हाची नासाडी झाल्याचे सांगण्यात येते.त्यामुळेच हे बी सर्वदूर पोहचलं. एकदा एक कॉंग्रेसच झाडं उगवलं तर राजकिय पक्षाप्रमाणेच त्याने हातपाय पसरण्यास सुरवात केली आणि पाहता पाहता हे गवत आसेतू हिमाचल पसरलं.कॉंग्रेस सरकारने हा गहू मागवला म्हणुन या गवताला "कॉंग्रेस गवत" असे नामकरण सुरूवातीला विरोधकांनी मग जनतेने म्हणायला सुरुवात झाली.
कॉंग्रेस गवत नष्ट करण्याचे विशेष उपाय नव्हते, तसेच एका गवतातून हजारोंच्या संख्येने बिया बाहेर पडत असल्याने ते थांबवणं कोणाच्याही हातातली गोष्ट नव्हती. संपुर्ण भारतात कॉंग्रेस गवत रुजलं वाढलं.
या गवताचा बिमोड करण्यासाठी भरपूर प्रयत्न झाले,या गवताने कशालाच दाद दिली नाही.

Every farmer in India is planting a grass. No matter how much they try to destroy it, it is not destroyed. A person who does not know Congress grass is usually not found. The grass that grows unnecessarily and grows in Yeddyag is Congress grass. This grass is also known as carrot grass. Congress is also called grass.

For so many years, the Congress has not been able to uproot the grass. It is a problem. The animals do not eat grass. Water or not. The acacia will not come once but the Congress will cut its head somewhere.

There was a famine in India in the 1950s. India was not self-sufficient in food then as the country had just gained independence. Large quantities of food grains had to be imported. The then Congress government came up with a plan. According to this plan, a large quantity of wheat was imported from USA under PL480. This wheat was of lean quality, from which wheat came to India. Wheat was imported from the government scheme. It was distributed all over India in ration system. Once a Congress party grows trees, it spreads its arms and legs like a political party, and the grass spreads all over Himachal Pradesh.

Congress did not have a special solution to destroy the grass, and since thousands of seeds were sprouting from one grass, it was not in anyone's hands to stop it. Congress grass grew all over India.

There was a lot of effort to get rid of this grass, this grass didn't appreciate anything.
